The great Battlefield 2 ram debate: 1 gig or 2?

Ever since Bf2 came out theres been alot of hoopla about hardware requirements specifically ram. The requirements shown on the box are 512MB ram. But my test is with 1024MB ram to see how fast maps load and the stability of the game actually running.
Test rig setup:
Abit AN8 socket 939 board
Amd 64 3200 cpu
1 gig stick OCZ PC3200 Value ram
Maxtor SATA 60 gig
Audigy 2 value sound card
Bf2 setup:
1280x1024 Resolution
All graphic settings on high
2x Anti-aliasing
100 % view distance
25 player games
ping between 40 and 60
My previous test was with 2 gigs of OCZ value ram.
Four maps, after a complete shutdown of my gamin
rig each took 1 min and 15 seconds to load. The gam-
e play was about ninety percent playable with very
few stuttering if any at all
Test with 1 gig of ram:
Four maps, after a complete shutdown and reboot of my gamin rig each took around 2 min and 20 seconds to load. The game play for the first 5 minutes was hideously choppy only to clear up a bit later on but still stutter slightly throughout the map. Upon leavin the game it took awhile for my desktop to get back in order with icons slowly forming back into place.
Once again these are my findings. Not all rigs
were created equal so a different out come is
possible for someone else.
